1. About This Policy

This policy explains how Utilinked ("we", "us", "our") uses Artificial Intelligence ("AI") on this website, utilinked.com.

We publish this statement voluntarily to be transparent with our visitors and to align with:

  • The UK's five principles for AI regulation (safety, transparency, fairness, accountability, and contestability) as set out by the UK Government;
  • The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025;
  • The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA);
  • The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) CAP Code on non-misleading commercial content;
  • The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), Article 50 transparency obligations (applicable from 2 August 2026), to the extent they apply to visitors from the European Economic Area; and
  • The ICO's guidance on AI and data protection, including the forthcoming statutory Code of Practice on AI and Automated Decision-Making.

This policy does not constitute legal advice. It is a transparency disclosure about our operational practices.

2. How We Use AI

We use third-party generative AI tools and APIs as a creative and productivity aid. Specifically:

Visual content

Generating or editing decorative images, illustrations, icons, and background graphics for web design purposes.

Written content

Drafting, summarising, or refining marketing copy, descriptions, and editorial text.

We do not use AI for any of the following purposes on this website:

  • Automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals;
  • Processing, profiling, or analysing personal data of our website visitors;
  • Training or fine-tuning AI models using data collected from this website;
  • Generating deepfakes, synthetic news, or manipulated media intended to deceive;
  • Emotion recognition or biometric categorisation of visitors.
3. Human Oversight

All AI-generated content published on this website undergoes human editorial review before publication. AI is used as a tool to assist our teams — it does not replace human judgement or operate autonomously.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that AI-assisted content is:

  • Accurate and not materially misleading about our products, services, or capabilities;
  • Fair and free from harmful stereotypes or discriminatory representations;
  • Compliant with the ASA CAP Code and UK consumer protection law.

We accept full responsibility for all content published on this website, regardless of whether it was created with or without the assistance of AI tools.

4. Transparency Disclosure

Rather than applying visible watermarks to every decorative design element (which would be impractical and would not meaningfully serve visitor interests), we provide this policy page as our universal, publicly accessible disclosure that AI tools are used in the creation of visual and textual content across this website.

Where the AI tools we use embed origin metadata (such as C2PA or IPTC markers) in generated assets, we make reasonable efforts to preserve that metadata through our publishing process, though we cannot guarantee metadata will survive all stages of image processing, compression, or content delivery.

5. Data Protection

We do not feed, input, or otherwise process personal data collected from visitors to this website into any AI system.

Our use of AI is limited to content creation workflows that do not involve visitor data. For full details of how we collect and handle personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

If you have concerns about how your personal data is handled, you may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

6. Intellectual Property

We use AI tools that grant us the necessary commercial licences for generated outputs. However, generative AI is an evolving technology, and we acknowledge that unintended similarities to existing copyrighted works may occasionally occur.

We do not knowingly publish content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party. If you believe any content on this website may infringe your rights, please use the procedure set out in Section 7 below.

7. Content Concerns & Takedown Procedure

If you believe that any content on this website:

  • infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights;
  • is inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate; or
  • otherwise causes you concern in relation to our use of AI,

please contact us using the details in Section 9 below. When submitting a request, please include:

  1. 1Your full name and contact details;
  2. 2The specific URL(s) of the content in question;
  3. 3A description of your concern (e.g., the nature of the alleged infringement or inaccuracy); and
  4. 4If applicable, evidence of your ownership or rights over the material you believe has been infringed.

We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 5 working days and aim to investigate and respond substantively within 15 working days. Where a concern is upheld, we will promptly remove or amend the content.

8. Limitation of Liability

While we take reasonable care to review AI-generated content for accuracy, AI tools may produce errors, omissions, or unintended outputs. We do not warrant that all content on this website is free from inaccuracies.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

Subject to the above, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on AI-generated content published on this website.

9. Contact Us
